MICHAEL POITRAS
B.Arch, OAA, MRAIC
Born in Montreal, Quebec in 1963, Michael Poitras has over 40 years of architectural experience. He attended the University of Toronto, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1987. He founded LINEVISION Architects in 2009, a multi-disciplinary architectural practice, after working previously as a design partner for Adamson Associates Architects and as a senior designer at Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects.
While acting as design partner at Adamson Associates Architects, he designed a broad range of buildings, including hospitals, museums, multi-unit condominiums, shopping centres, city halls and the multi-award winning high-rise office complex, 25 York Street – the Toronto headquarters for Telus. As principal of LINEVISION Architects, he is involved in all aspects of the practice, from conceptual design and detail development to project team management, consultant co-ordination, client communication and construction administration.
LINEVISION Architects creates modern architecture tempered with a humanist spirit, ultimately connecting buildings and people to the natural world. This method is both collaborative and interdisciplinary, resulting in a comprehensive design approach which is specific to each project. Reflective of his interest in working at a variety of architectural scales, Michael’s portfolio is mixed, with projects ranging from the public to the private sectors.
